Welcome to Covington Business Law, the law office of H. Christopher (“Chris”) Covington.

For over thirty years I have been focused on assisting key executives in building their businesses, and often on preparing for and subsequently executing their “liquidity event” – the sale of their company, raising capital, or an IPO.  As a partial consequence, I have developed particular expertise in providing “General Counsel Services,” in  advising on “Mergers and Acquisitions,” and in providing general corporate and transactional services to a wide range of business clients.

My clients have included individual executives, sole proprietors, limited liability companies, partnerships, Chapter S corporations and Fortune 500 companies.  My corporate clients have been both privately held and public and privately held, and I assisted two companies through their initial public offerings. Most of my clients have been from technology or technology-related service industries, but I have also represented companies engaged in manufacturing, distribution, and retail sales.

I genuinely enjoy helping business owners and executives solve problems and capitalize on opportunities, and my understanding of the financial consequences of critical legal decisions gives me a key advantage in providing financially astute legal advice and pragmatic, cost-effective legal services.
